Abrasive Wheel Training

We deliver our accredited operator training courses anywhere in mainland UK. The team of trainers come to your site or premises to deliver the training. The benefit to this is that it reduces travel time for your staff. But also, we can use the equipment that your staff are familiar with and are going to use. A bespoke abrasive wheel operator course tailored to your requirements, suitable for users of abrasive wheel equipment and their managers. All training is fully compliant and delivered in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance HSG 17 and PUWER98.

Delivered by expert instructors, our team are also experienced machine operators. Our training covers all types of abrasive wheel equipment and our training package will cover whichever machine types you require. Having years of experience means we have developed 14 different courses to cover all abrasive wheel machine types.

Abrasive Wheel Train the Trainer

Do you want to deliver your own abrasive wheel training programme? Our abrasive wheel train the trainer course is delivered by experienced instructors. We cover every wheel type and can offer 2 course options. The 1 day course is specifically for those who have experience of abrasive wheels and have a teaching qualification. The 2 day course is suited to those who have experience of abrasive wheels but don’t have a teaching qualification.

The practical training will include: wheel changes, dressing of the wheels where required and an operator competency assessment.

All trainees will receive a comprehensive instructor pack. The pack includes: powerpoint presentation (to suit the machines that you use). certificate templates, handouts, assessment forms and abrasive wheel marking chart. In addition we provide ongoing support for all our trainees.

Compliant Training

Any abrasive wheel trainer should deliver training in line with the Health and Safety Executive guidance. The guidance covering abrasive wheel training is HSG 17 – Safety in the Use of Abrasive Wheels. This document provides guidance in line with PUWER 98. Our training includes the 9 points stated in HSG17 and demonstrates that our training is compliant. In addition to this, we are accredited by the British Abrasives Federation. This is the only accrediting body mentioned in the HSE guidance.

Training on Your Site or Ours

Whether you require training on your site or premises or you would like to book onto one of our open courses we can help. Our team cover the whole of mainland UK and can travel to your site or premises. The beauty of travelling to you is that we use your machinery for the demonstration purposes. All we require is a room large enough to accommodate the relevant number of trainees and the trainer with power. seating and lighting. In addition we would require access to a workshop of work area together with your abrasive wheel equipment.

No space or nowhere to train? No problem. you can make use of either of our training centres in either North Yorkshire or South London. Only have 1 or 2 people to train? No problem we offer open courses for the abrasive wheel train the trainer course. If you are interested in this option you can book 1 or a number of places online.
