Manual handling, or to be accurate, incorrect manual handling, is one of the most common causes of injury at work. To try and combat manual handling problems, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations were introduced.

The Regulations lay out duties for both employees and employers. They give a general requirement that employees must be trained to manually handle correctly including the use of any equipment their employer provides to handle loads safely.

Manual Handling

Manual Handling is an inevitability in most workplaces for many employees, and the injuries caused by manual handling tasks being carried out incorrectly can result in a significant amount of time lost at work; not to mention the legal implications such an injury can have if the correct manual handling training was not in place.

All employers have a statutory duty to offer their staff the necessary health and safety training needed to fulfil their role at work safely. Hence, our manual handling course is a cost-effective and easy way of complying with health and safety regulations and fulfilling your responsibilities.

This first-class course is aimed at providing learners with a comprehensive understanding of manual handling tasks so that they can identify hazards and prevent injuries.

Course Content

This manual handling training online course, which is IIRSM & CPD approved, consists of 6 modules with questions at the end. You are given the chance to review all your answers at the end of each module before final submission and you will be given 3 attempts at each module to achieve a pass rate of 75% or higher.

Who Should take this Course?

All employers need to comply with the risk assessment requirements set out in the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and they need to carry out a risk assessment on manual handling tasks as specified in the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992.

Our Manual Handling training is for all levels of staff that undertake manual handling operations. Construction and building site workers will undertake more manual handling operations than most due to transporting loads by lifting, pushing, carrying, pulling or putting down.
