Do you want to learn how to deliver abrasive wheel training? Do you want to train 1 or 2 people? Are you based in the North? Our abrasive wheels train the trainer North Yorkshire open course takes place over a full day at our training centre in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. It is aimed at individuals who wish to train their own staff in the safe use of abrasive wheels and incorporates the half day BAF accredited train the operator course.

The price quoted is for internal trainers to train their own staff.

Training companies, third-party trainers, self-employed trainers and those selling their services: You will need to purchase the standard training resource pack with licence fee. The £99 fee is payable in addition to the course place and will be invoiced separately in advance of the course. Once paid, this will enable the person trained by TTS to use the course. 

Training companies, third-party trainers, self-employed trainers and those looking to sell abrasive wheel training must pay the relevant licence fee to use the course resource pack. Please contact us if you are unsure whether the licence fee is payable. Failure to pay the relevant fee will result in non-certification of the course.

Training and Testing Services offer Abrasive Wheels Train the Trainer North Yorkshire open courses. These specialist, full day courses have been developed to provide training to instructors/trainers; enabling them to provide accurate, up-to-date and fully compliant abrasive wheel training.

On completion of the course you will receive an instructor pack which contains everything that you need (PowerPoint presentations, handouts, certificate template, training records & more) to run your own abrasive wheel courses. Additional courses can be purchased separately. If you require additional machine types/variations we have more than 20 different presentations to chose from. 

In brief, the training includes:

To begin with, the first part of the abrasive wheel train the trainer North Yorkshire open course is the normal half day BAF accredited abrasive wheel operator course, during which the trainees will be required to take notes. This course is designed and structured to provide training in the safe use of abrasive wheels and meets with the requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98) and covers the following subjects:

  • The Need to Train and Statutory Requirements
  • Characteristics of an Abrasive Wheel and the Types
  • Marking of Abrasive Wheels
  • Speed
  • Hazards and Precautions to be taken
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Storage & Handling
  • Inspection and Methods of Testing for Damage
  • Abrasive Wheel Machine Components
  • Guarding
  • Dressing & Balancing
  • Specific Mounting Procedures

The second part of the course will involve breaking down the lesson plan, record keeping, practical demonstrations, theory & practical tests.
