Training & Testing Services Privacy Policy. With the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) that came into force on 25.05.18 we updated our privacy policy to reflect the changes. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We appreciate that you do not want the personal information you provide to us distributed indiscriminately and this privacy policy explains how we collect information about you, what we do with it and what controls you have.

  • To process transactions – Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
  • To send periodic emails – The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order (this will include delivery updates, stock updates and refresher training).

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email. You may also unsubscribe by emailing [email protected] with the title UNSUBSCRIBE.

We will use the information you provide for the purposes described in this privacy policy to which you agreed to at the time your data was obtained. Your personal data will be used to provide the information, goods and services offered to you, for billing and order fulfilment.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms
When you submit a contact form personal data such as name, company name, address, telephone number, email address and course(s) you are interested in are captured, we keep contact form submissions for customer service purposes so we can provide a quote, this information is kept until you request for your details to be removed from our database or we can no longer contact you. We do not use the information submitted through the contact forms for marketing purposes.

Cookies
We use cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your device. Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. Cookies also provide us with information about how this website is used so we can keep it is as up to date, relevant and error-free as possible. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly. However, you can still place orders over the telephone.

Our website uses a range of cookies, full details can be found when we ask for consent to our cookies. Our website is scanned monthly by Cookiebot who provide a full list of cookies used, their purpose, type and when they expire. Analytics
We use Google analytics to tell us how users find our website, how they move around on it, how long they stay for, and where they go from there. Google Analytics is essentially a user data processing tool. Google Analytics collects the following types of personal data:

  • internet protocol addresses and device identifiers
  • client identifiers

E-mail marketing
We only send marketing emails to people who have subscribed to our mailing list. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any point by clicking on the unsubscribe link within our emails or by emailing [email protected] with the title UNSUBSCRIBE.

We may use your e-mail address to send you information about products or services that are the same as or similar to those that you have ordered from us and that we think you may find useful. We will do so only if you have opted in to receive information and updates . At any stage you have the right to ask us to stop using your personal data for direct marketing purposes by emailing [email protected] with the title UNSUBSCRIBE.

Furthermore your personal data may be used to:

  • verify and carry out financial transactions in relation to payments you make online

We may also monitor who accesses our website, for example we may automatically collect access information about you such as: the type of internet browser you use; the website from which you have come to our website and your IP address (the unique address which identifies your computer on the internet) which is automatically recognised by our web server. Such information enables us to assess and build a profile of our users.

We use this information to improve the layout and/or content of the pages of our website and customise them for users.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Who we share your data with
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. These include:-

Payment portals: STRIPE, PayPal.

VideoTile: all our e-learning is produced by VideoTile and we sell the licenses with links via their portal. Your name, email address and course(s) purchased will be shared with them.

Social Media: we use Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube.

These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies.

We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

We may disclose your personal data:

  • to other companies within our group
  • if we sell our business to a third party
  • to our agents and service providers (e.g. providers of web hosting or maintenance services)
  • to Credit Referencing Agencies . We may request information about you from third parties such as credit reference agencies. We will add this information to the information we currently hold about you to enable us to make decisions about your creditworthiness and/or to detect or prevent money laundering and fraud. Where we make such a request we will inform you of this intention and explain whether any record of the search will be recorded on a credit file. You have a right to obtain a copy of your credit file
  • in any other case where we are required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to prevent fraud or cybercrime or to protect the website or the rights, property or personal safety of any person.
  • We may also disclose aggregate statistics about visitors to our website [customers and sales] in order to describe our services to prospective partners [advertisers, sponsors] and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will include no personally identifiable information.

How long we retain your data
We keep contact form entries for six months, analytics records for two years, and customer purchase records for ten years.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How do we protect your information?

  • we store your personal data on secure servers
  • payment details are encrypted using SSL technology. You should bear in mind that submission of information over the internet is never entirely secure. We cannot guarantee the security of information whilst it is in transit over the internet and any such submission is at your own risk. All we can do is use all our reasonable efforts to safeguard your data and ensure that we maintain a reliable and safe environment to use your data. It is advisable to close your browser when you have finished your user session to help ensure others do not access your personal information if you use a shared computer or a computer in a public place.
  • all admin staff have received training in data protection.

We may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.
